I do not have Russell's email address. I was wondering if someone who does might ask him if there is anyway to adjust the layout of the hawk cam page so that the nest cam is higher on the page? It makes it difficult to monitor while doing other things with the frequent refresh, since to view the cam I have to scroll down past ''Update'' ...

8:26 a.m. quick glance at nest while panning to a new view. Empty nest, couldn't get a capture.

For all the bird watchers here, Project Feeder Watch has just begun a new season, you can join in the fun of recording your backyard birds here: http://www.birds.cornell.edu/pfw/
Nominal particpation fee, and we are helping them track our migrtatory birds.

Bville, Cam- I have not been signing out, just leving it on in hopes of catching glimpses when I can, back and forth and back again. Sorry I missed Kestrels ride!
Not a professional, just trying to share whatever knowledge I think I posses!11

That is a cute little juvenile male kestrel. Next year he should have a rusty tail with a black terminal band and less if any flecks on a solid rusty chest. Great shots! Note the solid rusty tail on the mature male kestrel pestering Kay on the golden rod shot a few posts above here.
Edit- you know, I think this may be a Female's tail. ...

I beleive it is a kestrel. I have seen a young male, or at least a speckled-rusty-breasted, kestrel on and around the tower over the last year of watching, and there is one picture of one in the KJRH set, too. Very daring little birds. I think the shots that have been posted of a bird harassing Kay on the tower are also a kestrel.

Cat said in the chat that she saw Kay on the tower in fading light yesterday on the Golden Rod. I'll try to keep my page up and watch as much as I can in case we get more nest views!

Thanks Bville!! You are great! Yes, there does seem to be a green tinge to that shot, guess we can't know for sure if its old greenery or not but it seems it would have withered to brown by now if it was from this spring. I wonder what that whie thing is in the bowl area...coudl it be buried egg/ fragments?

I am posting this at the request of several KJRH chat folks. I got this link from another forum person last year, and it seems to work easily. I cannot guarantee anything except it usually works for me and I am an idiot! http://www.howiesfunware.com/ You go to the site and choose misc software, then choose easy screen captures. it

Light has changed. Is that a partially buried egg or remnant in the nest bowl?
