    Big Thank You

I wanted to get this in before Thunder decides he's had enough of the nest.  A big thank you Big Smile to everyone that has posted on this forum.  It has been a wonderful experience this year.  Hopefully we'll all get together again next year and do this again.

    Re: Big Thank You

It has been fun and very informative.  I will never look at a hawk the same way again.  Hopefully Kay and Jay will nest in the tower again next year.  A big thank you to KJRH for allowing us to view this event.  I am sure we all really appreciate them almost giving up one of their valuable weather cameras to follow the developements in this nest. I would especially like to thank Russell Mills at KHRH for being so caring and thoughful. I wish Thunder a long life.

Yes, I concur.  Russell Mills has been a valuable contributor and I thank you for going to the management of KJRH in our behalf.  All the posters have been most informative and entertaining.  It is wonderful to see so many people interested in the dramatic events of this nest.  I feel everyone has shown such compassion and intelligence in the postings.  It has been a joy to come on a read what others have contributed to the Observation Thread when I was not able to view the cam.  I want to thank Raptorman for starting the Observation Thread and for teaching us how to do an observation. It has been a learning experience.  I too will see hawks differently from now on. Thank you KJRH for allowing us to have this experience.

Ditto from me too!  Thank you to Russell Mills andto KJRH for the valuable lesson in wilflife and hawks.  Raptorman, your insight and knowledge has been very helpful and interesting.  I always enjoyed reading your posts and learning.  Ok, everyone, it's a date, next spring-- same time, same place for Kay and Jay's newest hawklings.

    Happy Mother's Day, Kay! Smile

    Re: Big Thank You

Looking forward to talking to all of you next spring.  I'll be switching to a pair of Peregrine Falcons on top of the Midwest Power Plant in Waukegan, Ill.  Fran and her mate have nested there since 2001.  They've built a box up there for them so they are pretty well protected.  Eggs have hatched yesterday and the day before.  They have two chicks now.  www.earthcam.com/usa/illinois/midwestgen/# if anyone is interested.   I noticed I don't get as personal with this pair as I have with Kay and Jay.

    Re: Big Thank You

Thanks guys for the kudos, but really it's this community that has made this experience truly wonderful. We could never have planned for something this cool to have occurred... all we really did was take advantage of "manna from heaven..."

Let's hope lightning strikes twice and we get some more Thunder next year! Lightning
