    Riverside Shooting

Anyone willing to share their feelings on this matter?  What makes the local news stations pick and choose what information they choose to air and what information the choose to leave out? is it to be un-bias or is it to be bias one way or the other? Im sure every news station looks at each others news cast aswell as internet, police scanners and you have what you call "reporters" to find out what happen.

I don't quite think some people understand the implications of using a firearm. If you have to use it, you have resorted to having to use deadly force with a instrument made for just that use. If you are in a position to just shoot to scare someone off such as a warning shot or wound them to make them stop, then you aren't really in mortal danger and don't have the right to use deadly force. Because say you just was going to wound him in the arm and missed and hit right in the chest, or hit an artery, then guess what, you could possibly accidently kill the person, and opens up a wrongful death lawsuit along with probable criminal charges. Chances are you are going to be facing the lawsuit no matter what, but if you admit that your intention was to "warn" then it gives credence to their case. I feel the media should make the public aware of this little fact of state law instead of making every decent citizen who applys for a ccl look bad like were gun mongers

Things not mentioned tonight on channel 2's/9's news broadcast. such as the aggressor possibly being drunk, as were his passengers, and that of another man who showed up later drunk and was even arrested for public intox.  its always sad when a person dies when not needed but it would have been a greater tragedy had a middle age man beat an elderly man to death or even just assaulted an elderly man. it would have made the greater tulsa area doubt humanity. tonights broad cast(in this area) was just sad. for all partys envolved.
