Super Angry [8o|] Gosh, what a surprise that gas is up

Can't say I'm at all surprised that we're getting held up by the petroleum bandits. Time to rake the public over the coals and squeeze some more money out of them before Bush and his oil-grubbing buddies get booted out of office for good.

I just laugh when I read about these boycotts organized (if that's the word) by people. Please. The oil companies are so bloated they could live for years off of what they already have. And I swear 75% of the vehicles I see in Tulsa are pickups and SUVs. Don't think that's gonna make QT's owner lay awake at night worrying about his business.

If we want to get gas prices down, we need to get off the "fill'er up" mentality. You need gas to get to work for the week? Spend the $10, don't top off. If everyone in America did that, imagine how sales would plummet. Since (as the oil companies never tire of telling us) the price of gas is largely market-driven, the dropping sales would naturally lead to lower prices.

Re: Gosh, what a surprise that gas is up

It's going to get a lot worse and may never get better.  We are starting to look for a new house to move closer to where we work.  Right now we commute in 2 cars 60 miles per day.  My husband and I work different work schedules so we can't ride together.  We both drive fairly economical cars (30 miles per gallon and 25 miles per gallon) but it's killing us.  I know we chose to live where we live, yada, yada, yada... and now we must choose between moving or giving oil companies about $100 per week in gas money.  Move it is.   Big thanks to Dubya, Cheney, and their oil company buddies!Angry

I site I often visit ppx.popsci.com has actually created a fake "stock market" where you place predictions with fake "money" good prediction more cash. One of the topics is gas prices, most people say it won't go up much more by 2008...

EDIT- If you try to find this stock on the website, the prediciton has ended...
