I did see these entries; but I won't put them on the Google Map since it is limited to redtails. One of Workaholic's sightings was of redshouldered hawks; and the other was of hawks flying (phooey) too high to be eyeballed as to type, and I really couldn't cite them as being redtails. But sooner or later, Workaholic is going to hit the jackpot--maybe even at Langenheim Park?

Edit: Sallyls, Just saw your other post. I think we've been putting our other redtail sightings on the Raptor Rap thread. I'll doublecheck....

....OK, I just did only a brief search. Many of the non-KJRH sightings seem to be on Raptor Rap. However, there are others on the observation thread operative at the time, and a few on the Map Room. I can't recall exactly how we did this posting in the "off season," that is, when the KJRH activity was slow (no nest business). What do you all think, that is, about where to post sightings of non-KJRH hawks, including the Langenheims and others? Raptor Rap? Or......?
Re: The Map Room: Maps and Map Info

catgirl:

KJRH Webmaster:

Hey all someone just posted several pics of another hawks' nest in our UGC content area: http://www.kjrh.com/ugc/cat/animals/default.aspx Might want to drop them a line and see where it is...

I took a look at the photos - and then looked online to see if could make an ID - as is not a RedTail. My un-expert opinion is that it is a redshouldered hawk. So maybe south Tulsa where there are still some wetlands areas.

It is not a Red shoulder, good guess though from the rusty front-it is either a Cooper's hawk or Sharp Shinned hawk. I've never seen one on a nest before! Cool. I left a post and invited the poster to post over here on the raptor rap thread. The NYC redtails have nested on the SIDE of builidings, on ledges, cornices, behind the statue on the cathedral, and on an air conditioner jutting our from a window, so who knows where they might be nesting! They could be in one of those large trees in the park, too, though certainly someone would probably have noticed a large stick nest in the crotch of a tree by now I would think...but perhaps not. Now would be the time to spot a nest in a tree with all the leaves off.

Re: The Map Room: Maps and Map Info

Bvile: These are great photos.
