Thank you, Observer !  And "bless you" back at 'ya!   I'm looking forward to any upcoming excitement here, as well!

I couldn't resist ...   She's napping and I can get something done here:

Hi Socal, congratulations on your new puppy, Mishka! Darling pictures, adorable face, love the coat color! Having sort of walked in your shoes (adopted a dog that didn't work for us, very long, scary 4 months, and then finding our current daughter dog Shannon who has brought us 10 3/4 years of unconditional love), I wish you for you the same - long life and lots of unconditional love from your new family member!!!

Here's hoping we have some feathered friends to see and 'talk' about soon!!

live well --- laugh often --- love much

Hi CamFan!  Thank you! ... and I do remember you sharing about your doxie (?), Shannon, at one point ...   You are so blessed to have her, and I totally hope for the same long, unconditionally loving years with Mishka ... and more (for you and Shannon, and for us with our Mishka!).  You were evidently much braver than we were with the adoption that had to, unfortunately, end.  I do hope those dogs (yours and ours) found a re-adoption that was appropriate for them, and some folks that could deal with that nature of animal.   We were thinking when we took the little chomper back that somebody with a ranch with sheep or cattle, who are experienced with  high-dominance personality dogs ... one that require really intense training and exercise (above and beyond the "norm") ... would find her and take her home.   We truly wish her a long and happy, healthy life...   It just wasn't a good match with us.  Mishka has normal puppy energy, and doesn't bite!   She's absolutely a good match for us.  Now, if we can just get her comfortable riding in a bike basket on my back-rack of my bicycle...   (working on it ...  Smile)...  Then, life will be even more perfect with her than it already is!  Meantime, CamFan,  thanks for the post, and I look forward to the upcoming season on the Forum ...  I'll try to stay in touch with all of you here ...  Give Shannon a pat and a scratching from me ...   And bring her inside when those winds start up again !!! Wink

Re: Our Pets and Other Life Dramas...

Well friends, I hope everyone is doing well.  Life does throw us curve balls to see if we are up to the challenges, doesn't it? But things have a way of coming around. My old cat Midnight has made it through another year, though she resents her daily medicine she hasn't stopped hopping into my lap because of it! Her renal failure is stable and so is her weight and she plays and eats and seems happy. My parents in their 80's have taken turns being ill and in the hospital the past several months, the good news being that they have taken turns, and that they are both home and seemingly improving now. The 10 month home addition/remodel is finally finished so we can enjoy it, one son is engaged and the other headed back to grad school, and daughter doing very well at college.  Though times are tight financially we have more than we need and are grateful for all that we have, in family, friends and "fortune".

    Wishing all of you well.

    Sally
