Congratulations to proud mama tripsqkr and your very talented daughter!!  That is absolutely wonderful that she won this week!  I look forward in a few weeks to the final!

A couple of summers ago a friend of one of my kids was on "Gimme a Mike" also - the Whitaker sisters - and one of them, Alana, went on to American Idol this past spring.  So I look forward to seeing you on camera sitting in the audience with your big beaming smile while Sarah signs her heart out  on "American Idol"!!!!

Just wanted to give you guys an update on my daughter, Sarah.  She is leaving at 5am Thursday to go to Kansas City, MO for the American Idol tryouts on Friday.  Will let ya know how it goes.

Also, on Mon. Aug 11 will be the 5 weekly choices for the Wildcard singoff  for "Gimme the Mike".  The winner of that will join the 5 weekly winners in the finale which will air live from the Cain's Ballroom on Mon. Aug 18th on KOTV channel 6.  Needless to say it has been a tad busy around our house lately.

Now back to the forum......to finish catching up on the last couple of days of info I missed.

What an exciting time for you and your daughter!  Do you find out immediately about the American Idol tryouts? 

Wow, exciting stuff, Tripsqkr. What fun for all of you, but doesn't it make you unbearably nervous? I remember when my middle daughter had a piano recital or was competing in horse show, I could hardly stand to watch because I knew how much pressure she put on herself, and it made me so nervous for her.
