    Re: Photos/ screen captures

Wow, that's alot of falcon photos, bobdmac... I don't know. I think my husband would have to wedge something between my butt and the chair to unweld it by the time I'd finish looking at all those. Thanks, though! I'll look, but must practice some retraint : )......
Glad you're not near the fires. Look out, though for those Oak Tree Huggers! If I lived there, I could easily be one of them. I love those oak trees on the Berzerkely campus!!!

    Re: Photos/ screen captures

p.s. bobdmac... I use the name "Berzerkely" with great affection for Berkeley.. Hope you weren't offended...I had friends attend U.C. Berkeley back in my student days, and I loved to visit them... It's a wonderful school and a beautiful campus. Our son got accepted there, along with UCLA and UCSD, and he would have gone there (to Berkeley), except he didn't get a very good $$$ package from them...

    Re: Photos/ screen captures

No problem, Socal, but I spell it "Berserkley," as in "going berserk." Of course, I'm probably the only one who spells it like that. I'm a University alum as well, by the way––1974.

    Re: Photos/ screen captures

bobdmac, the Berserkley spelling makes more sense. It's the more proper, if you will, spelling. I, too, graduated from UC... Santa Barbara, March of '77 (I graduated from high school a semester early, and started at UCSB, the Spring quarter of '73. What was your major?

Journalism. I re-entered school after I got out of the Army. Started at Laney JC and transferred to Cal for my junior and senior years. How about you?

Cultural Anthropology. All 4years were UCSB credits, except 43 of my upper division units in my major were completed at U. of Bergen, Norway (there, it's "Social" Anthropology)...along with several additional units in Norwegian (on U.C.'s EAP program). Those were the days.....

    Re: Photos/ screen captures

catgirl: Thanks for those newest photos. What a trove you are amassing! It must be a joy to you to be both the photographer and the "fan" as well. You surely do bridge the increasingly quiet weekends for the rest of us, as well as provide the context for what our small computer windows do occasionally offer. It helps me to know that though the nest is generally empty nowadays, the outside world--for Thunder and for us--is full of life and possibility.

I couldn't get them to display here this time when I tried it just now... Also, I just noticed my captions didn't get saved there.  I don't know what I did wrong... I thought I did everything the same as before... I'll try again in a bit.

Here's one, Socal. I have to add the captions manually:

    Re: Photos/ screen captures

Great job socal.  I went to your flickr photos - you got some wonderful ones - looks even better than seeing it live on the hawk cam!!  I am impressed how clear they look - compared to when they get posted on the hawk blog - looks like you were up there taking the photos!!!!!

    Re: Photos/ screen captures

I have no idea why my screen capture disappeared from the above post.... It was there earlier when I posted it...  Anybody have any idea as to why this happens?

    Re: Photos/ screen captures

I had that happen to me twice in a row yesterday when I posted that Muppet eagle photo. Was on for a bit, then poof. So I re-posted twice, and it took. Also, earlier today, when I tried to access Flickr, it posted a screen note saying that Flickr was experiencing "hiccups." In a few minutes, that went away and I could get on again. But I assume that a problem with Flickr could affect posted photos, something like what happened recently when the Photobucket site went down. All this is to say, socal, that I don't know. But it did happen to me yesterday.
