    Posting problems

People say they've been having posting problems.

So far, the only information I have is that they get an "error message."

I want to track this down but I really need more information. Metaphorically speaking, it's like telling a doctor "Stuff hurts."

I have posted three times so far this am w/o problems on the post-fledge thread, so I have no clue what kind of problem you're having.

Please cut and paste the error message if you can, or tell me if you see a "500" error or "404" error.

    Thanks!

    Re: Posting problems

OK Russell best to my recollection it said"We are sorry we can not process your request at this time" That was in big red letters. Then said "Your error has been logged and submitted to the webmaster. If you have any more information click here."

Something to that effect. I did not see an error number on it anywhere and when I tried to copy it so I could paste it for you it would not give me the copy option.

If this helps any I hope so!

    Thank you

    Observer

    Re: Posting problems

    Hi Russell and Observer:

When I was getting those messages yesterday I remember there being a "report" button to click on. I didn't click on it, though, as I was suspicious of what the whole thing was. I do remember there being either lettering in medium / light blue, or a thick border around the whole error page in a medium/ light blue. sorry, I can't remember if there was a number on it or not. If it happens again, i'll take a screen capture of it, and email it to you, Russell. I just learned how to do screen captures on the mac last night from hubby! still don't know how to post them on this sight, though. Good luck! - socal

    Re: Posting problems

12:14 - Russell I was getting the same thing as Observer.  It happened at work and at home.  It sat for a long time after I pushed Post and then a large box opened up and said something to the effect that the Server could not process the request.  It definately said something about a Server error.

Obviously it let me send this from work so I guess the problem is solved.

    Re: Posting problems

Russell, I was getting the same messages. It linked to this address

    http://dev.communityserver.com/forums/

I don't know if that is significant or not.

    Re: Posting problems

OK Russell at about 3:20am Sat morning I was in the "Hawk News" forum. When I clicked on the "forums" buttom ar the top of the page I got this error message which is the same one we were getting when we tried to post the other day. The page is totally white except this:

We are currently unable to serve your request

We apologize, but an error occurred and your request could not be completed.

This error has been logged. If you have additional information that you believe may have caused this error please report the problem here.

This happened a few times then worked ok after that

    Re: Posting problems

Okay well that's definitely a server error on the Community Server side. Those will happen once in a while, but if serveral occur in a short amount of time (like last weekend) then we have a larger issue.

Please folks, let me know if this happens again...
