OK this is depressing. 5 days and no post on here. Looking back to last year there were beginning to be sightings of hawks sky dancing and possible sightings of Thunder. Has everyone gone on to other things? I (and some others I know "wink") have gotten totally hooked on Facebook but I still look for post and comments on our hawks. I hopeall is doing well and have just gotten busy.

The cam seems to have gotten a little off kilter today!!!!

    Miss you all!

Hello Observer! It is depressing, just like the weather. But I know of at least 5-6 people that are anxiously awaiting the camera to pan to the Hawk's nest so they can kick off the 2009-2010 season on the Forum! Right now I think that KJRH is using the Remington Towers camera (off I44, which is what you see most of the time) between Yale and Sheridan on 41st street. Maybe something happened to the Hawk cam? If so, hopefully it'll be fixed soon and we'll catch a glimpse of the elusive Kay and Jay, and maybe see some nest repair!

I have found out Kay and Jay have been seen regularly around the station and I think it might get back on the right cam soon. Nice to know there are other lurkers out there!! I know also Sally is watching.. I hope she gets her computer fixed soon.

OK, my friends, this situation calls for some blatant anthropomorphism on somebody's part, and I'll volunteer. Let us all look hopefully to the skies, dream for a moment, and then cheer along....

    GO, RED HAWKS!

Thanks (and apologies) to Catgirl for the photo I've mutilated.

Bville, camfan, catgirl, Observer, Russell, sallyls  ... et al .....   Thank you all for filling in the gaps of these past months for all of us!    I just got caught up, and must say, you all are pure gold!!!   Thank you once again!   I've been busy with life's demands ...  some of which are ongoing ,,, and just wanted to "check in" .   One of these "demands" is very delightful, and will be shared on the "Our Pets..." thread of the Hawk Forum.  Wink ...  catgirl and Russell: Do continue to wow us with photos of Kay and Jay and other local wildlife!!!  It's so delightful to have a "window" into Tulsa's fabulous nature when one does not have physical proximity to its beauty...  And Bville, I'm absolutely floored and amazed at THE MAP (!!!) and your resources thread.   You have given us all a huge gift through those !   I hope one day to make use of it all !!!  Observer, sallyls, and camfan :  I love your posts, as well, and I'm so glad you've hung in there to continue to fill us in and give us "your take" on it all !!!   I may not be here very regularly, but you can bet I'll play big catch up whenever I can!   Big hugs to all Big Smile !!! - socal

Ok, Bville, that was hysterical! And very appropriate! We'd all like to see the 'kick-off' of a new season of RTU!!!

Socal, thanks for taking some time and letting us know you're still among those interested in the Forum - from whatever distance, and as time permits!

Thanks Bville!  Hi Observer, Camfan, SOCAL!!!!  Good to see some folks are still lurking!!!  WAITING FOR THE CAM TO VEIW THE NEST!!!!  Reports from the street? No one driving by very much anymore???  Mama says she has driven by and seen lots of prey in the area of the station, some pigeons and lots of starlings.  Hubby says I spend too much time online... hmmmm....have to be crafty!

Re: Raptor rap: A place for the flock to talk, squawk, and speculate about Raptors and related subjects

SOCAL, WINGS  - welcome back!!!!!!!  More RTU cheerleaders!!!!!  So glad you stopped by as you have been greatly missed.
Also I am thrilled to see who all has stopped by this past week  - observer, bville, sally, camfan - that have not been around as much - not that there has been much going on.....  but that should change soon, right?!!Big Smile

I did not see Kay or Jay yesterday morning so instead I headed downtown to Boston Avenue Methodist Church to see if could spot anything ....

If you have trouble spotting the hawk, its because that tower is 225 feet tall (hmm, isn't the KJRH one only like 110? anyone remember?)  the white shape near the base of the glass panel topping is NOT the hawk, maybe light or satellite.
I've posted a few photos of the "art deco" pair on my flickr from Friday and Saturday - along with notes on a couple of the photos to help you locate the hawk, just in case!!!  Nothing as good as couple of weeks ago as just way way too high up there!!!

Re: Raptor rap: A place for the flock to talk, squawk, and speculate about Raptors and related subjects

Catgirl, excellent photos of the ArtDeco Red Tail!! I couldn't see him from the photo you posted - had to cheat and go to your Flickr page! So nice to see the blue sky Saturday, wasn't it!

I echo Catgirl's sentiments - Wings, it's great to see you back on the Forum and hope that your health permits you to return more often as you are a valued member of this group!

Here's hoping we'll have more to watch soon!!

Re: Raptor rap: A place for the flock to talk, squawk, and speculate about Raptors and related subjects

Hi all - I have driven by the KJRH tower neumerous times but haven't been lucky enough to spot either Kay or Jay in over a month - I know they'll be back... hope to report soon that I've seen them.

I also check out the tower by Mazzio's almost daily...but no hawks when I am looking.

    Happy Halloween to all.
