Bville and Socal, I've been wondering the same thing.

    Re: Post-fledge observations

12:07 pm. Hi gang! It's still morning here, but good afternoon to you out there! I have a theory about the shaking camera. It's now on the American Flag by the Arkansas River. When I first started looking at it, the flag was completely furled, and hanging against the pole, not even moving... but the camera was very shaky. Then the flag was blowing out, but only very slightly... now again as I type this (12:10 pm.) it's furled, but camera is shaky.....

I think one of the hawks in sitting on top of the camera, causing it to shake. Also, every once in a while it shakes as if a hawk were suddenly moving around on it (preening?)...
12:12 p.m. Cam just moved to lower part of tower... THERE's one of our HAWKS!!!!!!! LOWER RIGHT ON SCREEN! Which one? Anybody? Thanks cam!!!!

(All my hawk stuff is on:)

    Hey gang...

I've been away for a few days but wanted to drop in and just say howdy. Will post a couple new pics of Mojo & Co. in the pets forum in a bit...

I think that's Jay on the tower currently, that's one of his favorite roosts. I was in MC and just spotted him as I was panning the camera around... So I left it there to keep an eye on him.

I will be in next week then out for a week for our SummerStage show...]

www.shadia.com for those of you locally who'd like to come see us... I made a little flash ad on her website that links you to show info, it's called "Café Aman."

    Peace out peeps...

Russell:  I had a feeling these past days that you were gone!  The camera just hasn't been the same without you around!  This was great seeing Jay on the tower below!  Thanks!!  I hope you're having a good rest and quality time with the fam! Will look for  Mojo later...
Peace back at ya... to you and yours, Russell!

    Re: Post-fledge observations

Thanks for checking in, Russell. Anxious to see new pics of Mojo & Co.  I think if we don't hear from Chinook and Weeyin, we will definitely hear from them when Spring arrives.

Good picture of Jay.  Nice of him to check in too. Hope everyone has a great day on the 4th and stay safe.  Maybe we'll be storm free tomorrow.

7:55 p.m.  Camera on a plateau in the distance I have not seen before.  What is this long, high plataeu?  I am assuming it is over the river?  Very pretty!

I hope everyone enjoys 4th of July wherever they are.

    Re: Post-fledge observations

    Hello all.
Just my daily update of hawk sightings.  I can't seem to stay away!!

9:20 - 9:25 am  Jay on ring platform looking around.  Takes off across Peoria and back again and disappears after flashing his red tail!  Spot him momentarily on antenna on roof of station then lose sight of him as try to get in better position.

12:30-12:45  Three hawks soaring around the 31st and Peoria area.  At least one is an adult as when the angles are right, can see gorgeous russett tails.  Not sure if another was an adult or not as would soar in and out of view and sometimes could see two and sometimes three and sometimes just could see one.  Then I had to get back to work.  I like to think it was a family hunting lesson outing - Jay had been hanging around for several days looking for them, waiting to join in to teach Thunder a few moves!!

6:30 pm  Thunder on tower side antenna, calling out repeatedly and looking around.  Flew off to the southeast and lost sight in the trees and could not locate any more hawks this evening.

No spectacular pictures - just more of same that I have already posted.  But my new camera is on its way so hopefully next week I will have a few worth sharing.

Everyone have a wonderful 4th - and I'll wave to the hawkcam if I see it pointing in my direction as I chase hawks!!!

Gunit or any other hawk watchers in the Tulsa area - leave me a PM if want to stroll around the station neighborhood this long holiday weekend - more sets of eyes and ears would be great!!!

The camera is pointing to the southwest.  One can see one of the bridges over the Arkansas River (I think the I-44 bridge) and the long plateau is called Turkey Mountain.

Catgirl thank you again for your update. It is still such an uplift and ray of sunshine when you report seeing all of them still around the area! I will look for your wave if the camera ever bothers to look around! Smile

Good luck and have a safe holiday!Smile

9:00 p.m. Beautiful sunset and twilight, through the KJRH tower cam looking southwest, at "Turkey Mountain" (thanks catgirl for that information!...and for your sightings today!).   Happy Fourth of July gang!  I might peek in a bit here and there over the weekend.  Stay safe and be well.   Hugs, socal
