    Re: Observation Thread

07:54 H standing outside the platform on rail just behind dish. Wind blowing. Continues to look down, left then right. Big first step!

I didn't observe a feeding yesterday, either. And, Kay stayed with H for a long time in the platform yesterday afternoon. I was puzzled by the new greenery.

08:02 Shifted weight a bit and stretched wings. Appears very windy today.

08:05 Extending wings. Turns on rail toward platform at 11:00. preens

08:07 Jumps back onto platform and onto rail at 6:00 facing camera. Back down to platform.

08:08 Out of range of camera. Turns back abit. Still clumsy on the sticks, it seems. Flapping lightly.

08:09 Flapping harder gaining some heighth. Onto rail at 9:00. Onto rail in front of camera, picking at rail. Following with head.

08:11 Jumps to platform at 9:00. Walks between pole and rail in front of camera - NEW ??

08:13. Camera moves. Appears to hear camera! Great close up of puzzled face expression

This area is without sticks and appears to step down off of platform at about 7:00.

    Re: Observation Thread

I wish someone could film from the ground and give a different perspective.

    08:17 Same position. Focused downward.

08:20 focused and following intently. Preens back a second.

08:22 My video keeps stopping and starting. Angel

    08:23 Scratching head

08:25 Turns and jumps into nest. Picking at leaves in nest.

Thunder close to camera....great photo op for camera operator, Thunder looking all around the area no parebt as of yet. Is Kay an Jay making him sing for breakfast? so, could Thunders hunger be another way of encouragement for Thunder to fly? In nest bowl looking for any leftovers.

wings2c, try this link.  It should open another video feed on your desk top that won't stop and start.  I use this instead of the website feed.  You can also post your wonderful observations without losing sight of Thunder!

    Re: Observation Thread

08:27 In nest moving leaves. Did some strange stomping/humping motion on them??

08:30 Jumps to rail at 6:00 facing camera.

    08:33 On platform at 9:00 facing 10:00

08:38 Same position preening. I do believe H is closer to the edge than at 8:33.

08:41 Walking toward 10:00 on platform. Looking out at the edge at this point.

    08:48 Standing in same positon

08:50 Inches forward on platform. Sitting toward 11:00. Feathers all fluffed.

Thanks, Sophie. That is the one I am using. It must have been a glitch in my connection. It is better now. I appreciate the information.

9:05 - Did anyone see the adult hawk flying just beneath the platform?  It was circling over the road across from the station and landed in a tree.

    Re: Observation Thread

Thunder on edge of railing..pooped and remains on corner of deck area. Looking around so cool and calm. Wish I was, the tension is unbearable waiting for Thunder to fly. Off railing edge facing camera on deck area. Scottish opsprey nest at Loch Lowes had first hatchling in wee hours this morning so I'm watching Thunder and hoping for a glimpse of new osprey chick!!

    Re: Observation Thread

09:00 Back up to very edge of platform at 9:00 and defacates.

09:01 Still standing on very edge facing platform and looking around. This is like watching a tightrope walker.

09:03 Repositions feet, turns on edge and extends wings. Shoot. Jumps back onto platform.

09:05 Jumps back toward camera/nest. Out of range of camera. Back to edge of platform at 9:00. Flapping and jumping

9:07 Flapping and jumping on edge. Seems to want to go

09:08 Looking out following. Jumps back onto platform. Still at edge. Flapping and catching wind under wings

Heart be still!!! I have chills

09:12 To rail behind dish. I thought H was gone this time.

    Re: Observation Thread

Instead of sitting here watching the screen we should all be down across the street from KJRH with field glasses and video cameras watching this for ourselves.

Ah yes.  But with the well aimed projectile pooping going on up there, we could all be blinded for life.  Or worse.
