I got these names by reading this thread. I did not choose any Native American names because I don't want to choose one tribe's language over the others and start another controversy :)

I suppose I'll have to go with Spirit, as that's all that really remains of the "little one".

I am voting to name the hawklet we lost Braveheart. It put up a brave struggle.

Thank you Russell.  We will all remember Spirit and enjoy watching Thunder become independent. 

Russell, thank you for your assistance in the naming of our little hawklets.  Spirit and Thunder are perfect names for them, and I will always remember the experience of watching them as the eggs hatched.  The loss of Spirit was hard to take, but in nature we know these things happen.  It's been wonderful watching Thunder mature and grow to become the beautiful bird she is.  Thanks for all your valuable information  and to KJRH for allowing us the experience.  And, to all the "friends" who have enjoyed this remarkable time of learning with me, thanks for your participation too.  I've enjoyed all your postings.

Thank you, Russell, for such a kind gesture in your inclusion of us 'tenderhearts' in the watch of the little one.  Spirit is a wonderful choice and I hope you will preserve the beautiful poem another wrote in memory of the baby.
