    Re: Observation Thread

16:20  He's on the rail at 9.  He was at the edge of the platform toward 10 flapping but he stopped and came back to the rail.  He is pointed toward 12 but keeps turning is head 180' and looking in the direction of the camera.

Debi go to the thread - Camera not working - and read RJ Mills advice to get your computer to see the cam again.  It might help. :)

16:55 Thunder steps out of nest and goes to edge of platform and looks over.  Comes back to the outside of the rail at 9 facing 6 and stands on left foot.  Breeze blowing through feathers.  Shakes right leg and tucks it up again- still standing on left foot alone.

17:02 Thunder lying down outside the rail near 9 head down on some sticks.

I can't get my computer to show anything!  At the most important time!  Is the baby gone yet?  I wish I could see him take off

Debbi try using the direct link to the camera:  http://www.kjrh.com/content/live/live2.aspx
I bookmarked this to my browser toolbar, lol so it's the first thing I check when I go online...

20: 47  Kay in nest with Thunder.  Thunder on the right near 3 looking towad 9.  Kay at 9 with huge stick in mouth, seems to be trying to fix the nest.  Thunder standing very still watching, watching trying to stay out of the way of the stick.  After several minutes with stick, Kay jumps to rail at 6 facing camera.  Thunder still in nest.

    Re: Observation Thread

10:15, 66 and partly cloudy, Wind NE 7 MPH.

A on rail close to cam facing 12:00, seems quiet, head down.

Thunder is laying in front and beneath where A is perched. Half his right side is visible between the bars.

He is awake, visible by his white chest, facing 5:00 but looking around a bit. Eyes seem half closed at times.

Almost looks small -- trick of the camera! A's strikingly marked back so close makes H look 1/4 A's size again!

    Re: Observation Thread

7:20 - Current temp 47 degrees, mostly clear, winds calm.  Forecast is for 76 degrees, clear with winds from N 5-10mph.

Thunder is standing on railing at 9 looking towards 9.  Standing in the sun preening feathers.

    Re: Observation Thread

7:29  The picture that first came up of Thunder was glorious.  He was standing on the rail at 9 facing out of the nest.  The sun formed a golden halo around him.  He is beautiful.  He is up and ready to go - again today could be the day.  He is just looking around.

    Re: Observation Thread

08:03 Still standing on rail at 9:00, facing the dish,  preening. The sun is in another position now, but there is still a glow in the platform.

08:05 Turns facing 3:00. Picking feet up and putting them down. Jumps into nest and pulls at, what looks like, left over prey. Nope, it is a large hawk feather. Moving it or playing with it.

08:07 Jumps onto rail at 6:00 directly in from of cam. Picks at talons, rails and screws in rail

Is it wet? His feet seem to slip.

08:09 Turns with back to camera. Flapping on rail and moves to rail at 7:00. Flapping and jumping. Jumps into nest. Back to rail at 9:00 facing out.

    Re: Observation Thread

08:12 Turns toward nest. Still slipping on rails. Steps off rail onto platform. Back up on rail racing nest, again.

08: 13 Standing on rail at 9:00 still picking at talon. I think there is something hanging onto one of them.

08:14 Move to rail at 7:00 facing nest and preens. Steps up onto rail in front of camera. Picking at screw/bolt on rail. Belly band is in. Still has a little bit of white spot left on back of head.

08:16 Pulling right foot up and curling talons in. Balancing on left foot.

    Re: Observation Thread

09:19 Walking and turning around to face out at 8:00. Preening

09:22 Turned facing the back of platform.

09:26 Stretching wings. Jumps to rail at 9:00 facing nest. Stretching. Still slipping on rail. Turns and jumps back onto platform. Jumps back to rail at 9:00 and over to 3:00

09:28 Out of sight. Back to rail at 9:00. Lifting right foot up and down. Flapping and turns. Jumps to 3:00 again. Nope back at 9:00 again.

09:30 Slips off rail and onto platform. Jumps into a flight mode over nest toward 3:00. Out of sight again

    Re: Observation Thread

09:30 Just had another panic attack.  Looked in and all I saw was the platform toward 9 with no Thunder - thought I had missed it!  Nope - he came in from 3.  Whew.  I'm so not ready for this.

There is something going on with that rght foot.  He seems to have a lot of tenderness when he puts it down.

It is a beautiful day here - calm and sunny - if Thunder decides to have a soar...

09:32 Still out of sight of camera.

09:34 On rail in front of camera. Looking down.

09:35 Flapping wings and jumps to 3:00 and back to 9:00

09:36 Onto platform, sitting looking out back of platform.

    Re: Observation Thread

I have a question, when Thunder decides to fly, will it be a short flight, and then he's back---or will he leave the nest for good?
