    Sectarian Violence . . . .

Thats what the news media call whats going on in Iraq.

Look it up in your dictionary.

What they really mean in plain English, so everyone can understand is:

Its a RELIGIOUS WAR.   A war between different religions.   Thruought history, religious wars have been the most violent, the most blood thirsty of all wars.

Because one side believes they are "doing Gods work" they believe all their enemies should be tortured and killed and sent to hell as quickly as possible and as many as possible, thereby earning for themselves the idea that they are great in God's eye, and deserving a greater reward.

That is the mentality we are facing in Iraq and Iran and other Islamic countries.

Most of the civilized world went thru this back in the dark ages.  Christianity went thru this.   We sorta learned, but the Islamic countries are still living in the "dark age".

The U.S. government and media followers refuse to "call it like it is" and continue to use the term "sectarian violence", in an attempt to hide the truth as to whats going on.

With all the musslems living here in the U.S. it may not be long before we are all caught up in their "sectarian violence"  - a religious war of blood letting.  They would like nothing better that to kill all Christians, who in their eyes are the infidels.

NOTE:   Now the news media is calling this a "Civil War".   Go look it up.    A civil war is about politics and borders, etc.    In a civil war its not about religion.

There is no middle ground in a religious war.   Either you convert and become one of them, or you have your throat cut and you die.   Calling your self neutral is the same as being an infidel, a non believer.

Its all between the suni, sheias and kurdish and some christians, and a few jews.

    Its not a civil war.

Wow I don't even know where to begin. Civil wars can MOST CERTAINLY be religious. Have you heard of a little country called Ireland? Protestants vs Catholics, yeah? Oh, and both are Christian sects as well. Neither have had too many qualms over killing school children over the years.

Catholics vs Protestants is a LOT like Sunni vs Shiite.

The Kurds are an ethnic minority, not a religion.

Now if it isn't a civil war, it's because we're there, not because religion is one of teh issues over there.

I also find it hard to accept someone knows what they're talking about on such a complicated topic when they can't even spell the word "Muslims."

Now do I think there are Islamic fundamentalist extremists who are animalistic butchers that whip their followers into suicidal rages and then send them out to kill innocent people? You bet. They're the scum of the earth. But the seeds of hatred they plant find fertile soil because of the incredible poverty and ignorance which exists in the Middle East, Africa, Micronesia, Indonesia, etc. If we spent 1/2 the money on developing their economy as we have spent on invading and trying to run their country for them, we'd probably have made some friends instead of even more bitter enemies.

Oh and if you buy into this "all infidels must die" BS then clearly you know nothing about Mohammed or Islam. People took his teachings and corrupted them JUST AS THEY DID TO JESUS' TEACHINGS.

    Islam has five basic tenets:
    1. Believe that there's only one God, and that Mohammed was God's prophet
    2. Pray, five times a day
    3. Give to the poor
    4. Fast during the month of Ramadan
    5. Make the hajj, or pilgrimage to Mecca, once if physically/financially able

Now where's the "kill all the infidels" part? Oh yeah, the so-called "6th pillar of Islam," or jihad. I recommend you read the Wikipedia article. Here's perhaps the key phrase of that very lengthy article: "The primary aim of jihad is not the conversion of non-Muslims to Islam by force, but rather the expansion and defense of the Islamic state."

So to wrap this up, the violence in Iraq is religious only inasmuch as it is Sectarian. They're not attacking U.S. soldiers and marines because they're Christians, but because they're THERE. They attack one another (Sunni vs Shiite) over religious differences, yes. Those are BOTH ISLAMIC SECTS. That would be the definition of SECTARIAN VIOLENCE.

    Okay flame away.

    Thanks for your reply.

If it were possible to remove all forms of religion from in and around Iraq, there would be no problem.

But, there may remain a few individual attacks against American troops, but very little.

Its the religious differences that promotes the killings.   Remove that one thing and there would be peace.

    No  flames.

This is the only thing I will comment on.

Maybe the leaders of the listed nations and those rich in oil should share some of the money to help their people &  boost their own economy.

Note: next to the "reply" bar is the "quote" bar and that makes it much simpler to quote someone on their post.

    Such as,

As long as I get my point across, why concern yourself with the method?  Thanks for your input!
