When looking for a new car loan or a used car loan, a very essential thing to think about is the car loans
rates that are offered by the car financing institution. It is
important to compare the rates provided by various finance companies so
that a decision can be made on how comfortable you will be with the car
loan interest rates. A guaranteed car loan rates is usually affected by 2 things: how much you are borrowing and the term of the no credit check car loans . Though these seem as typical points to weigh up of before choosing a best car loan
rate , the process of calculating how much you ought to apply for and
the payments that you will pay can be a daunting task. This is where a
car loan calculator comes into the picture.

With a car financing
calculator you can calculate car loans payments you will shell out
supposing you apply for a certain credit amount. The loan calculator
has an easy-to-use interface, where you key in data and it does your
calculations automatically. When settling on no credit car loan
rates , you can request that the lending institution adds a number of
items to it. For instance, you may want vehicle insurance, warranties
for mechanical breakdowns that the automobile may come across, on road
costs, among others built-in in the car loan
interest rates. The loan company will have to approve this car lease
proposal. If it passes through, do remember that you will still have to
borrow the money over the same time as specified in the car loan
agreement.

Used car loans are slightly cheaper than new car loans. Also, the rates differ for secured used car finance
and personal finance. Personal loans or unsecured car loans are usually
much higher in interest rates. If you opt to go for the secured car
loans due to their lower car loan rates, you have to have enough
capital to forfeit for car insurance, and you will also have to offset
the loan if you sell your car. It can be more difficult to get a car
loan approved when the car is more than 7years old.

Another factor that determines the bad credit car loans
interest rates is where you intend to get your car from. Imported used
cars are not liked by most car loan companies, or they have a very
rigorous process for those applying for car financing for such. In such
a case, getting a personal loan may be the best substitute. Choosing
the best car loan is not difficult if you do enough research with some patience

Watch 2News Midday Today!

Rita Scott, coordinator of the local "Buy Fresh, Buy Local" campaign, will be on to discuss the topics in Barbara Kingsolver's Animal, Vegetable, Miracle.

To get the public a little more involved, we are trying a DIET book. The big d-word. And this is no ordinary diet - it's a very aggresive nutrition plan, written by an Austin, TX firefighter, Rip Esselstyn.

No meat.

No chicken.

No fish.

No eggs. No dairy... even no oil.

Are you up for the challenge? We have recruited two firefighters from the Tulsa Fire Department. One with dangerously high cholesterol, who pays $90 a month to pay for cholesterol medications. The other is an athlete who wants to maximize his athletic potential. Firefighters in general are at very high risk for heart disease given the nature of their job.

But this is not just for these guys - the book is for everyone. The author claims this is the ultimate road to good health. How could it effect you? I'm giving it a try. I'm already a vegetarian, but this is taking it to a new level.

Thoughts? We'll be checking in with the firefighters periodically. Also, tune into 2News Midday for their results.

I haven't forgotten about Wicked - review to come!

Happy Fourth of July!

Offtopic IMPORTANT-WWII Veterans, family, friends

I couldnt find anywhere else to post this!

THIS IS SO IMPORTANT!

If any of you know of ANY World War II veteran who has not seen the WWII Memorial in Washington, you must immediately let them know about Honor Flight Network. I just returned from being a Guardian on my father's Bluegrass Chapter Honor Flight trip to Washington. It was a wonderful experience for all of the Veterans, who not only got to see their Memorial, but also were treated to warm flag-waving receptions and kind words from complete strangers all day long. The trip is FREE for our Veterans and they are well-cared for, wheelchairs are provided if requested. Some of the Veterans were very capable of walking, others limited to varying degrees including being nearly dependent on a wheelchair; all were watched over and assisted by the volunteer Guardians and every need taken care of. Although I was a Guardian accompanying my father, I was also asked to assist and watch out for other Veterans on the trip so that all had a safe and enjoyable day. It was a moving experience for all and a wonderful experience. I spoke to several Veterans on our return home and they were all very moved and said it was a wonderful day. My father was particularly moved by the group of Cub Scouts who saluted him at the Memorial and asked him about his medals, and the little boy who asked him how he got his Purple Heart. The Veterans also get to share stories with others from the "band of brothers".

PLEASE INFORM any WWII VETERANS or their families of this wonderful opportunity for our heroes to see their Memorial. Our youngest WWII Heroes are in their 80's and are losing them too quickly! Most never received any recognition for their service and sacrifice and they certainly deserve it now! There are Honor Flight Network Chapters across the US. Below is a link to a short video, and also the link to the Honor Flight Network for more information.

http://honorflight.org/ Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America's veterans for all their sacrifices. We transport our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill.

Of all of the wars in recent memory, it was World War II that truly threatened our very existence as a nation—and as a culturally diverse, free society. Now, with over one thousand World War II veterans dying each day, our time to express our thanks to these brave men and women is running out.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Honorflight.com and Honorflights.com are NOT associated with Honor Flight Network, Inc. (honorflight.org). The aforementioned sites are for companies that charge a fee for flights to visit the World War II Memorial. The flights and tours that Honor Flight Network provides World War II and terminally ill veterans are absolutely FREE.

Mertz Family and Sutton - famous

http://www.newsok.com/life

Little did I know, it's a loaded request to ask, considering after reading the book I still truly do not know my own thoughts on the book. It's easy to say I "liked" the book and that I enjoyed the book. The topic just raises so many questions that it has just left me as it did all of the characters: feeling helpless and confused.

Honestly, I chose this book simply because my grandmother suggested it. Plus, the movie version of the book, starring Cameron Diaz and Abigail Breslin, is about to be released. I thought, "this is supposed to be good, let's read the book. It's a timely choice." I was not expecting the heartbreak, the tears and certainly not the surprise ending that fuels such anger toward the author. I'm still angry about the ending, one that I never would have predicted, but now realize that there wasn't going to be a winning solution. No happy ending. So, of the options, perhaps this was the only one to have.

It's the story of a 13-year-old girl Anna, literally "designed" by science through In-Vitro fertilization, to be a genetic match for her older sister battling leukemia. She has been through countless surgeries, given bone marrow, and when asked to give a kidney, she instead decides to sue her own parents for the rights to her body.

From page one, the topic conjures up so many questions in your mind. Would you do this for a sibling? Does this child even know what kind of decision she is making and the consequences it would have? Are the parents doing the right thing? How far would you go?

The book left me torn through the end, as it seems it intended to do. The mother, Sara, is not the most likeable character, and it is very easy to want to be judgmental toward every decision she's made. But just like every character in the book, she is left with decisions that no one, no parent, no human being, wants to even think about, much less make.

I often thought Anna maybe had a little too much insight into the adult psyche, a little too much wit and even knowledge for a child. But the character is no ordinary girl, and she has gone through more than most people will in their lifetime, so her character soon started to make more sense.

Decision, choice, sacrifice, unconditional love, life, grief. One family's story encompasses it all.

Hope you brought the kleenex. After this one, we are lightening things up a bit next month.

Stretching across Canada from Alaska to Newfoundland, the Boreal Forest of North America is a critically important breeding ground for billions of North America's birds. The Boreal is vital to the abundance of bird life in the US and Canada and contributes in a significant way to birdlife from Mexico to South America. Nearly 50% of the 700 species that regularly occur in the US and Canada rely on the Boreal for their survival. Over 300 species regularly breed in the Boreal.

During spring migration [that is, right now!] up to 3 billion of birds fly through the U.S. to their breeding grounds in the Boreal Forest. Up to 5 billion birds (adults and offspring) fly south from the Boreal each fall. 60% of these migrants spend the winter in the U.S. — making it the largest wintering grounds for boreal birds such as Yellow-rumped Warblers, White-crowned Sparrows, Rusty Blackbirds and Ruby-crowned Kinglets.

Some startling statistics: 80% of the waterfowl species of North America, 63% of the finch species, and 53% of warbler species breed in the Boreal.

The Boreal Songbird Initiative, along with other environmental groups like Bird Studies Canada, Nature Canada, the David Suzuki Foundation, among others created a petition called “Save our Boreal Birds” a little over a year ago. This petition will be sent to the Prime Minister of Canada and many provincial leaders, and asks that vital bird habitat be kept intact despite the fact that over 30% of the Boreal Forest has already been designated for development.

They are launching the petition on May 12th, and are currently at about 60,000 signatures. They are trying to get up to 70,000 before the launch.

You can help by clicking on the link below and signing their petition:

I hope you enjoyed Made in the U.S.A. by Billie Letts. She came on 2News Midday on Friday and was a great interview!

As I told Billie, I thought the book was fantastic. The last two pages were my favorite part of the whole book - we finally got to see Lutie and Fate be the kids that they are, and it made me happy to find them happy in the end.

I'm glad Lutie came around. I was starting to think I was never going to like that character! And Fate is just too cute.

Now, it's time to gear up for Still Alice by Lisa Genova! My producer bought this book for me for my birthday saying it would make Book Club selection... so here it is. Enjoy! And be sure to let me know what you think after reading it by emailing me at christy@kjrh.com.

This was my first time at the BOK and I was very impressed. It's a beautiful building and the acoustics are fantastic. The seats are more comfortable than here in the Ford Center. It seems to me that now that we have the basketball team you in Tulsa are going to get some of the better concerts. I will be up again for the Celtic Thunder concert in November. Congrats to all of you for a job well done. I love our Ford Center, but I have a feeling I'm going to be coming up to Tulsa more often now.
Babies

OK I was watching the news and they said there's a new thing out that you could put on your babys carseat seatbelt and something on your keychain and then if you leave your baby in the car, once you get 20 -30 ft away that the thing on your keychain would go off. OK here's the thing how could you leave your baby in a hot car either at home or where ever. This is happening more and more these days. People forgetting or leaving babies unatteneded in cars or alone with dogs. This should be the most PRECIOUS thing in your life, now they have some gadget out to remind you nobody should have to remind you HEY did you get the baby out of the car? You didn't have that sort of thing when I was growing up and leaving babies/kids in hot cars all day until there dead. The parents should know better and if they didn't want the baby they shouldn't have had one. It seems everything she touches or is repsonsible for ends in controversey, or susiption of corruption. From Richard Roberts being sued over donations to her campaign, to the highly questionable relationship with the Murphy Brothers and practices of the Tulsa State Fair Grounds. She successfully removed Bells Amusement park from Tulsa.

Richard Roberts now is separated from the Oral Robetts University. Bells no longer pays it's rent to tulsa, which was millions of dollars each year, while Murphy Brothers Big Splash is allowed to go rent free with no payment. Now the former head of Expo Square is suing Randi Miller and Tulsa County, Claiming he was instructed by Randi Miller to keep Big Splash off of the Radar.

I don't understand why she kicked bells out, without replacing the income to the fairgrounds and the surrounding businesses. After losing millions of dollars to local business we find out that her friends get to go rent free on the fair grounds.

There is a lot of controversy surrounding Randi Miller, and I think we need to formally request the OSBI to look into everything that Randi Miller has touched. We need a stringent investigation of everything involved with the Tulsa Fair Grounds, the County Commissioner office, and all her relationships that are looking like they compromised her office and Tulsa County. I am making a call to everyone to send an email to the governor, the osbi, the Mayor to have Randi Miller investigated.

OSBI, http://www.ok.gov/osbi/contact.html ( I submitted my request)
Tulsa Mayor Taylor, http://www.cityoftulsa.org/ourcity/mayor/MayorContact.asp ( I submitted my request)
Oklahoma Governor, http://www.capwiz.com/politicsol/mail/?id=7142&type=GV&state=OK ( I submitted my request)

It just looks like everything she touches becomes corrupted.

natural gas or electricity

We moved from Va to OK a couple of years ao. In the planning stages of building our home I decided, against the will of the builder, other builders and family to not have so much natural gas in our home. We do have a natural ga home heating system and a gas firelog fireplace (no chimney for efficiency). I eliminated the typical natural gas clothes dryer and I eliminated the natural gas water heater. In fact we do not have a ater heater in our home. We have an on demand water heating system. For 2 years now we have been more than pleased with these decisions. Last month (June and half of july) our electric bill was about $150.00 (air conditioning going 27/7) and our natural gas bill was about $11.00 (and that was minimum fees for zero use) . I anyone has a better system let me know. That is a system that will not take a 2nd mrtgage to get. What I have suggested will take probably less than $2000.00 to install. Now compare your high gas and electric bills with mine and see how long it will take to recoupe the initial investment. Hopefully this has been good advice for many to think about.

Many people die needlessly . . .

Every year in America, hundreds of thousands of people die while waiting for someone to donate needed organs.

People die in car crashes and from other accidents, and are buried along with their healthy organs.

Why not allow the reletatives of the accident victims sell the organs? This could help pay for the large medical bills and funeral expenses, and allow many people receive the organs they need to live.

Just allow the two parties to meet and agree on the terms. This would help all parties concerned.

Now, hardly anyone "gives" their organs. A few sign donor cards, etc, but still hundreds of thousands go un donated every year.

Are you in favor of allowing the hundreds of thousands die each year waiting for an organ?
