Wonderful photos, thank you for going down there to take them.  Thank you for sharing them with all of us.  I have been down there three times and have yet to see anything.  Keep up the good work.

How can I add any more adjectives? Thank you both so much for the pictures and Catbird for getting them posted.

    Just totally wonderful!

Gunit just keep trying. Your luck sounds like mine!

We live about 90 miles SE of Tulsa. We had to go to Keystone after we closed today ( which is on the west side of Tulsa) on the way back I talked Hubby into driving by KJRH. We came from the North down Peoria around 8:00PM. Three or four blocks North of the station the city electric crew was all over the place. It looked like a huge tree had fallen over on some power lines and onto Peoria. When we went  by they had it lifted and was repairing the lines. (They are showing it on the 10PM news.) Anyway all of that to say I didn't see a Hawk anywhere! Sad

Hope there will be more sightings!

Yes, yes, thank you, ladies. It's so meaningful to have these different perspectives: Bobdmac's platform closeups, and your beyond-the-tower, neighborhood shots. It has been our pleasure to watch the Red Hawks at home; and now we can see them abroad, as well. I have to keep reminding myself that they are indeed citizens of the world, and that they live and breathe in a context larger than the cozy confines of a nest bowl, a platform bounded by "heart attack ledge," and a fixed camera's range of pans, tilts and zooms. Wings!

I'm joining late in the day, but just as sincere in adding my appreciation to others'... Wonderful pictures catgirl, Chinook, and bobdmac! They really do enhance the post-fledge "empty nest" experience for us all! Thanks, friends!

    p.s. to Bville: Don't forget "perpetual pillar"! : )

Smile Ah, yes, of course. Your p.s. is duly noted, socal, and credit given to whoever among us coined those memorable phrases--may have been you? (I'd have to dig back a ways.)

    Re: Photos/ screen captures

I just want to add my two cents to the chorus of thanks for those great photos. After reading about all the difficulties the urban raptors are having in landing safely, it was great to see all the rings and antenna branches available to Thunder. Now that I see how the hawks use the tower, it actually looks like a brilliant spot for a nest.

    Re: Photos/ screen captures

Thanks so much to catbird for posting all the pictures I sent.  The pictures seem to be in order timewise, but of course the narrative if off, but hopefully people can match up the photos with some of the descriptions.
I will try my hand sometime soon (not sure if it will be today) to post some more of the pictures I have taken in the last couple of days - like the hawk hanging out on the Mazzios tower in the rain.  I have been so blessed with sightings quite frequently when my path takes me in their general direction (sometimes with a little detour built in!!)

    catgirl:

I sent you a (home) e-mail message with the instructions you asked for. Bobdmac taught me, and he is the master, so if my instructions are confusing, ask bobdmac to help you.

It is such a treat to have your lucky self there for those sightings (and photos) of our hawk family in the rest of their world.

    Re: Photos/ screen captures

    Thank you tripsqkr

I use windows media player. I have it on full screen when I stop it on the capture I want. Then I exit full screen. I use paint shop pro and get the screen capture in there. Then I resume or start play and return to full screen. I am sure there are easier ways to do it! In paint shop I save it as a ,jpeg

The pictures may be too large for bville to view. Just a guess. Bobdmac or catbird should know.
