When JJ flies
All eyes
Will face the skies
Joy and sadness
Follow our madness
We came as strangers
We will leave as friends
One small bird
Who grew
And grew and
Grew
Before our eyes
Touched hearts and
Minds
We learned and grew
Along with you
When JJ flies
All eyes
Will face the skies
Touched forever
Bound together
When JJ flies
The last few days with the cameras down I have realized how important this little bird has become to many. But, it is much more than that! We all check in to see, with a glimmer of hope, if the camera is up and we can once again see JJ and family. We also check in, to check on each other. We stay on line to respond to any and all that want to know what has become of the little bird and our chat friends.
We started out strangers and we chatted Eagle talk and then those chats became more. We learned about one another and we cared. We shared the joys and the sadnesses of our new found friends. AND it went beyond 2D. I have been witness to some of the most amazing generousity of spirit and kindness that I have not always seen even in the local 3D community. I have been moved beyond words.
We have been admonished for not "keeping on topic" . We have had new people join our flock and find some joy in a few moments of laughter. Madness I call it. I have laughed so hard my sides have hurt and I have had to windex my monitor. I have cried watching the Eagles in the storm - none that were here will ever forget or will ever look at storms in quite the same way. I cried when new friends hurt. But we never lost sight of the Eagles and were always willing to share information on their well being and about eagles in general. We learned so much from the special eagle folks and each from other.
I have been touched by the pure beauty of nature as I watch a young eagle learn and grow to be the magnificent bird JJ is to become. Like many, I feel JJ belongs to all of us.
I have found warmth and friendship in the community we have become. We are from far and wide and yet we have found joy in this place and in each other, if only for a few moments. In many ways I am a much better person for having been here.
Witnessing this amazing masterpiece of nature has made me want to help the birds and I promise them and all of you that I will be thoughtful of what I do and how my actions can and will impact them - those we have come to adore. You have my word!
There are people here who have taken this experience to another level and have shared it with all of us. A wonderful, beautiful JJ scrap book, a nightly recap worded so eloquently we have all been touched and even a wonderful JJ rap song. I wanted to contribute in some small way so I penned for you my poem "When JJ Flies"
I thank you all for your kindness and your friendships. I will cherish this experinece always. Touched forever, bound together.
