Hi Bobdmac, I've been viewing some of you're super clips of none other than Tulsa's Kay an Jay. I can't be much help with video's an pic's so my five cent's will be watching like a hawk on Kay an Jay's routine's Time permittin' during daily mundane task's.

 

Socal does it seem like she stands up about every hour? I haven't been watching all the time but I have screen shots of her standing up and adjusting then sitting back down. The next set was about an hour later she stood up .

Isn't that sweet watch her nod off then jerk back alert then her head slowly drops down with her eyes closed then open them suddenly like whoops must stay awake.

Observer she's alert an wanting some shut eye all at the same time. Up for a stretch, slightly lifting up her talon, looking around for Jay's meal on Wing's.

Observer, she certainly is precious to watch. I just want to pat her sweet, little feathered head while cooing "awwww, such a sweet little mommy hawk"...

I have no clue about the spacing in time of her standing... I was gone much of the day today, and just started watching this evening about 50 minutes ago... And speaking of timing, I have a feeling there's a gap in time between what she's doing, and when it's displayed on my Quicktime Player...


Must go. Have to start some dinner soon! Later, all - Have fun!

She looks like she's getting ornery, picking and fussing at things in the nest. I think you're right, Observer. She probably wants some vittles.

or, maybe she's getting annoyed due to the 2nd egg about to be laid squeezing its way out???  She had a big breakfast, for sure, she could behungry again.

Kay makes herself heard

Mama's sleepyhead, really sweet video Bobdmac. I think food may help her bird nap better? though most Mama's sleep but with one eye open eh!

Kay's brooding has been pretty steady now, don't you think? I'm hoping to see her behaviour pattern change with her laying the secong egg. I'm curious to see if it's the same pattern as the female eagle I read about. Will have to wait and hope you catch it on video Bobdmac. I seen the video of the female eagle during the egg laying period...was amazing to see the change's as it happened.
