    KJRH Webmaster:
Yup, definitely a food drop. She was really vocalizing befire and right after the food drop. I'm not sure that "food" was dead yet, she seemed to be chasing it a bit. Now she's back up on the rail and vocalizing again, did "breakfast" get away?

    Re: Post-fledge observations

11:15 Walks over to 9 railing of nest, facing 3, Now out to platform edge by dish, facing camera. Hops back into nest to 3-facing-3 position again. REally doing alot of calling out. VEry very verbose right now.

    Re: Post-fledge observations

    11:15

Thunder is looking kind of forlorn. She waks to the edge of the platform facing the dish, then back over to the nest, evidently calling. Now she's at the right edge of the nest, looking out, and partially obscured by the column.

    11:17

She hops up on the perch above the nest, almost entirely off-camera, but now the camera tilts up to show Thunder facing the dish, back to the camera.

    Re: Post-fledge observations

g'morning bobdmac... sorry.. i should have said it before... very frazzled this morning. trying to contribute here as much as i can, and multitask doing other stuff in between. A little crazy-making. Must go soon. Have to go to mom, take her to lunch today, meet brother for family mtg. stuff re; mom, then errands...

11:22 Thunder still on bar over nest. She must be sooo hungry. Alot of crying still. Facing dish, There's mom! Camera pans to her head looking down at ground right at camera. Very close up of her beautiful head and ...she flies off over peoria? Thunder standing on 9 rail facing nest... looking down into nest and off toward where mom flew off. Did Kay bring food?

    Re: Post-fledge observations

Wow, here's Jay? Is that right? Just a brief visit to check things out. Still no food. Adult leaves, and Thunder is standing on the bar at the left of the nest, calling out.

    11:27

Wow the parents are on the job. One of them just dropped off a small prey item, and Thnder "mantles," it, standing on it and looking around. I wonder if it was still alive, leaving if for to Thunder to administer the coup de grace.

    11:30

She's feeding on it pretty intently, now facing the dish., the prey obscured by her wings.
