I couldn't find a picture off hand of Jay an Kay together facing the camera though I know someone has posted one in the past, but this is Jay. He has a very faint belly band compared to Kay's

I think the eggs are fine so far, that was just a shadow.

9:00 am  Spot a hawk in a tree at 36th and St. Louis.  I park and try to find an angle to see who it is, as their back is to the sun, and lots of tree branches in the way.  Just as I get under the hawk, it takes off.  I snap a few pictures as it circles overhead and then disappears over buildings to the south.  I did not have any more sightings on my way back home.
Tis Jay and he has a full crop.

 

Catgirl I can never say "Thank you" enough. Jay looks wonderful in these pictures. I can only hope Kay is OK also!!

First off, thank you for all your posts, screen caps, ground reports, mappings, and in general being there "on screen", even post-egg-abandonement... in spite of those of us who just can't participate much right now...   I for one, am checking in once a day, at least, to see if anyone has posted, and to try to keep up.   And as I just said on the new thread by Russell today, all of you are in my daily thoughts and prayers...

And you, too, are in my thoughts and prayers...   (and tripskqr... and Chinook and I'm sure more will pop into my head as soon as I hit "post"... or later when I'm not anywhere near a computer!!!)...  Just know you ALL are included!!!!

Wings, Jay's belly band is a lot lighter than Kay's. That's one of the best ways of distinguishing them.

Well I be darned...I thought all adult RTHs had distinct belly bands. Thanks again. Learned something again! They are so beautiful! I miss seeing them in the nest..so much.

4:15. So, no nest visits at all today?  Figures, but its sad. I am so glad Catgirl and Workaholic are looking out for the birds, perhaps others will join in also! Tulsa hawk nest field trip!

From Okieredbud in the chat My granddaughter and I drove over 30 miles over to Brookside. we sat and watched the tower hoping to spot them. Finally, they both came up over Peoria from the west side from the trees over there! We were so relieved to see that they seemed to be OK and were still together. we felt like we had seen movie stars! It was about 3:00 this afternoon (or 3:30) Bob asked how sure she was that it was Kay and Jay Very sure. One had a very light *** (as Jay has been described) and one had the brown on the *** (as Kay has been described). Also, they flew very low and towards the tower.

Here's what someone in chat just reported, from a 3:30 pm sighting:
