Hi, Sallyls: I don't know that photos can be pasted straight from one's computer-stored pictures into a Forum post, though you can paste a photo from one post to another, as you just did with my capture. At least, that's my experience. I use Flickr as my photo-hosting site and paste from there. You can use it free as long as you store 200 photos or less. (I finally relented and paid for an upgrade, as I got tired of deleting stuff to keep the total under 200; and more importantly, I anticipate lots of action this season.)

Sallyls I think maybe it was already uploaded on here is why you could copy and paste it. That is just my guess!!

Here are 2 side by side shots from this morning. Putting Jay and Kay side by side. It was funny how Jay repeated thesame steps and movements when they visited the nest.

Problem with screen shots if you try to zoom them then the pic gets blurry. Maybe this will help tell the difference between the two.

Hi, Observer. Hmmm. My photos do display on my screen, so I don't know what the problem might be. I can remember something like this happening a couple of times way back last summer when I couldn't see some things posted by someone else. But I have no explanation. Can anyone else see my photos on the previous page?

Your juxtapositions of Kay and Jay above are fabulous! Very instructive--and funny, as you say. This will be a great point of reference for ID questions.

Bville I don't know either. The last two show but that is all. It says "this image not available at this time" Then they have the Flickr logo on it.

My son had a similiar incident with looking at the pictures on my Flickr. There were about 2 to 3 pages that were just blank where the pic should be. They all showed up when I looked at them but logged in under his name they didn't show. We still haven't figured that one out. I think it is still that way too.

Yep I like the "Fonz" do.

12:35. Ooh!  Back on the nest!  Empty but still exciting!  Wonder what I missed...I'll have to do more paperwork at the desk and watch!! :)

Bville, I used to be able to copy and paste pictures into the forum, had done so until I suddenly couldn't during the Turkey Vulture discussion last fall I think.  But I will eventually figure out the flickr thing, though you guys seem to be really on the ball I'm not sure youneed my pics, too.

 

Okay here's a picture I think you guys will love. Our engineers had to get on the tower last week and while up there, took this shot. They wrote me that "one of the hawks was keeping an eye on us but didn't bother us."

The guys didn't disturb the nest, BTW. Here's the pic:

Russell that is a fantastic picture. Have never gotten to see the nest from that side. The camera doesn't appear to be connecting right now but with it being cloudy cold and dreary there probably won't be much activity today. I may be wrong though.

Holy Smokes, what a shot! Thanksazillion, Russell and crew! There's the pod and the evergreen and a greenish branch that looks to be of the more supple sort. Those two little buds seem a bit like the pussywillowish ones we saw the other day. And some of the thin branches appear to be rather woven together. Great opportunity for anaylsis. Thank you.

Wonderful Russell!  It certainly confirms some of the fuzzier contents of the nest that we have been wondering about!

Thanks Russell for posting that photo of the nest! wow. And thank the engineers who snapped it ! It's really nice to see such a crisp, clear view of it... it's great to be able to discern what's what. And, is it just me, or does it seem so much smaller from this viewpoint? Thank you again, Russell and KJRH!... Every view, from ANY camera, from ANY angle is a gift to us all!

Okay here's three pictures taken Tuesday during the ice storm of a rather woefull-looking RTH in a tree right behind the station.

I've given up trying to identify the little feathered rascals so I'll defer to the forum. Three shots, and I'll upload a bit of video here in a bit that will show up in the upper-right video player on the main hawk page.
