3:23 p.m. Tulsa Time: THE NEST! Empty, but full of sunshine and hope. Nice to gaze upon it as it patiently awaits "move-in" day for Kay and Jay once again. It looks as though they've done some maintenance and upkeep on their vacant abode. Glad to see it hasn't been subletted to those who would not respect this lovely stucture. I must say, it looks fairly pristine and nest-shapely. I don't remember it being so tidy. Probably because Thunder created such a mess all the time. Anyway... thanks Russell... or whoever!!!

Re: Kay and Jay RT: The 2nd Season

Time for another quick quick season preview...............
11/16/08  4:45 - 5:30 pm  I spot a hawk on the KJRH tower.  I quickly park and snap a few photos - its Kay.  She is halfway up the tower and the sun is getting low.  She spent the whole time that I could tell gazing around, scanning, watching.....
And just a few minutes in preening.  Then for about 15-20 minutes, a good sized pesky bird kept dive-bombing her, louding screeching as it flew off after each pass.  As it got dark, I headed home with Kay still sitting at the tower, watching, waiting.... for Jay...or did Thunder follow her back again?!

Re: Kay and Jay RT: The 2nd Season

Bless your heart, Bville! I would have missed them both, had it not been for your posting!!!

... am watching the nest now, along with you, reverting to old behavior of carrying laptop around house while doing chores... I may just switch back to the treadmill, instead of bicycling this morning, for the same reason... depends on how long we get the nest shot. glee... : - ) THANK YOU KJRH! (Russell ?? Is that you manning the camera?)...(er, "personing" the camera?)....

Re: Kay and Jay RT: The 2nd Season

10:56am JAY!!!!!! Check him out in the nest!!! Russell... I saw his head long enough before he hopped... oh.. he just flew off... 10:58 a.m... anyway his thick white eyebrows gave his identity away... He's gorgeous and healthy! What a FAbulous treat... Wait... he's back! or are you replaying the siting?.... 11 a.m. He's back for real, I think!!! He's on the 9 o'clock beam of nest facing 3. Calm. Looking around. Appears to be resting a bit. Wait... The FIRST RTH a few minutes ago WAS JAY...those EYEBROWS!... This one might be ... is it Kay? ... There are white eyebrows on this one, but I think a bit less long and thick than the first bird's... I got screen shots of this one... I'll try to post them.... 11:06 a.m. He / she is still there on 9 beam of nest, looking at camera, and all around.. very calm...THIS IS SO COOL!!!!!

    later edit:
THE FIRST ONE WAS JAY...THE SECOND BIRD IN THIS SIGHTING WAS KAY... I'M PRETTY SURE

Me, too...He's been there for at least 20 minutes or so. I see that the live cam and my little viewer screen are out of sync. I'm not sure what is live and what is not. But, Thanks, Russell!!!

Re: Kay and Jay RT: The 2nd Season

11:18a.m. Kay flew off... camera looking all around for her...she's gone. Gang, I took a ton of screen shots, and will try to get some of them of my flickr site:

     http://www.flickr.com/photos/27921002@N08/

THANK YOU RUSSELL!! Gang: I am convinced that the first bird in the nest today was JAY... much thicker and longer white eyebrows than Kay... Then this last bird was KAY... beautiful adult, with smaller white eyebrows. ALSO: Jay did his typical BRIEF visit of the nest... Kay did her typical longer, lingering visit...

okie dokie... I'm back to not being able to get my flickr photos to post here.  So just check out my link (above).. Sorry gang!

Hi Observer!  Hi Bville!  Hi Russell!   And BLESS YOUR HEART, RUSSELL!

Re: Kay and Jay RT: The 2nd Season

    So is this JAY?

These photos were captured between 10:45-10:55. Was this indeed JAY? When did he first appear? I caught movement on my cam screen out of the corner of my eye, but I don't know if he had just arrived (10:45) or had been there, or what. He was there for at least 20 minutes. What time did KAY show up? I missed Kay because someone came to my door, and I'm just now returning (grumble, grumble)
So now we have photos of both Kay and Jay? Thanks, Observer, great job! So, many who check in later will get the whole story. Glad you were here! Socal, I'll check your photos, too. We love this!
AND THANKS TO RUSSELL! You made our day/week/month/Thanksgiving, etc.
So can someone give a basic chronology of the nest doin's? I had taken a shot of the empty nest earlier, before all the happy ruckus.
