I drive by the station every evening on way back from checking on my Mom - haven't seen either Kay or Jay since my last post - I too will keep watching - I'm sure they are around - just not when I am looking.

One beautiful hawk way up high on KJRH tower post. I couldn't tell who it was, but only saw one. This was at 5:50 p.m. today.

    5:50

Well - it's a beautiful afternoon here in Tulsa and I just saw Kay and Jay, side by side, watching over their KJRH territory - looking south - way up high on tower (just below the nest area) - made me smile!

I second that woohoo.  It was wonderful to see them.  It had been several weeks since I last saw our lovely pair.  But this evening on my way home from work around 6 pm  I also saw them sitting on the goldenrod, watching the Friday night activities gear up on Brookside.
I took a few photos and hopefully later this evening I can post one.

About a week ago as I was checking the hawk and eagle cam, I saw where Russell had been on the chat and mentioned that he sees the hawks about every 3-5 days and has taken a few photos also.  He indicated he would post some ...  sometime soon maybe...

Hello to all and hope everyone is having a wonderful summer.

as posted on my flickr - www.flickr.com/photos/cheryls_camera
Jay and Kay on the goldenrod this evening at 5:55 pm.

Not crystal clear zoomed in at that distance - but nicely shows the size difference and the head/beak differences that Donegal discussed recently (a week or so ago, and at other various times) on her blogspot - http://palemaleirregulars.blogspot.com

woohoo, catgirl, gunit, thank you for your ground reports. Each and every sighting makes me smile just knowing they are still there...looking forward to fall and nest rebuilding. catgirl, your pics are icing on the cake!

Again thanks guys, there are those of us that are still religiously following Kay and Jay, and wonder what their nest looks like (hint, hint KJRH camera man!). But you guys answer the question, "Where is the world are Kay and Jay"!

EDITED TO ADD: Apparently the camera was on the nest Friday afternoon around 5 PM... guess all of us that have the capability of screen shots missed it...maybe next time. One egg was still there.

Julie Chin (local kjrh meterorologist for those reading from outside Tulsa) gave a report on Thursday or Friday (arond 6:45 a.m I think) in response to what she indicated were numerous emails asking about the hawks - she explained the whole snow storm incident and subsequent abandonment of nest - They then showed the nest - still one lone egg. I was surprised the egg was still there.

They should have shown some of the forum captures of the drenched, frozen, snow-covered Kay!  What a Mom, really...and how was Jay supposed to fly way up there in those conditions??  Thanks for the reports everyone!!!

Hi to my KJRH forum friends-miss you guys!

Monday 5:50 p.m. - Both Kay and Jay hanging out on their favorite KJRH tower - not on same post, but close (one was just under the nest area - other was on same post that Catgirl photographed last week) - Happy Monday all.

Re: Kay and Jay 2nd Season: After Eggs 4/07/09

I don't usually go up Peoria in the morning but stopped in the new bagel shop right next door to KJRH this morning around 8 - Kay? or Jay? was perched about midway up the tower watching the new bagel shop activity - facing south. (I waved good morning but he/she didn't respond to my human greeting.)

Excellent capture Bville, as always yours are very clear, picking up the details.
This pic does not look that much different than the one you posted on May 21st.
Wonder where all the sycamore pods went, there looks like one or two left?

Thank you Russell, you said you'd move the camera to the nest this afternoon and you did! And you kept it there all afternoon! The Kay and Jay hawkaholics appreciate it.

Here's a shot in the late afternoon sunshine around 4:35 PM:
