Ditto to what socal wrote, catgirl. What lovely photos. And the one of yours that Observer posted above is a classic for Thunder's Greatest Hits Photo Album.  What a sweeping view of her "undercarriage." Beee-you-tee-ful! Love it, love it! Thanks to all the Tulsa spotters and photogs.

Socal:  Hope Honey and you are having a better day.
And hello to bobdmac, wherever you are.

Thanks for posting the picture on this thread observer.  I do not mind a bit since I do not have that expertise (yet; one of my sons says he will show me next time he is in town!)  So post any you would like!!!

And thanks to my new camera - its fun (instead of frustrating!) to get some pics now!!

    Re: Post-fledge observations

Observer: Bless you for posting Thunder in flight here. Those two photos of Thunder today just knock me over! Bless catgirl for putting us back in touch with and sight of, our hawk family! Just thinking of that frightfully funny white ball of fuzz with baby blue eyes, at one or two days old, and this owner of the winds....

    Re: Post-fledge observations

Socal: note to you on Raptor Rap section, but I should have posted it here. Alas, tired brain, befuddled brain. I tried to copy it here but that went splat. Anyway, it has kudos to socal for her screen captures, questions about the "new" hawk three miles away, belly bands, and praise of pantaloons.

    Re: Post-fledge observations

12:11 a.m. Thanks, Catbird. I'm just so glad I got to see Thunder yesterday on the nestcam... Thanks to KJRH!... the opportunity to do those screen captures was a gift ...Sorry this is such a late reply. I was busy much of the day and evening. Yes, good questions, regarding belly bands, "new hawk", etc. I wish I knew the answers, but alas... Perhaps, your friend and expert, Donna, may know. My brain is mush again. Must sleep. catgirl and Russell... Looked at your pics, and enjoyed them all over again. : )
Oh, and to Bville: Hi! Thanks for the good "Honey" thoughts. She's having a bit of a quickening of the aging process. I think some of it is due anyway (she is getting old)... and some is from the Phenobarb...Anyway, thanks, friend...hope you had a great day! And where, oh where is bobdmac?....where, oh where could he be? (to the tune of "Where Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone?").... Did he go off and leave with no laptop to use...Oh where, oh where could he be?!?......... : ) Just kiddin' around, bobdmac (if you happen to read this)... Seriously, hoping you're alright, out there in the world somewhere. Bville, Catbird, catgirl, Gunit, Observer, redfinch, Russell, sallyls, tripsqkr, wings2c, Workaholic, , and ....ALL you wonderful fellow hawk forumers... God bless ya all, sweet dreams and g'night. "See" ya tomorrow.

I e-mailed Donna earlier this evening with the belly band question.

    Re: Post-fledge observations

14:12 - Camera has been on downtown Tulsa all day.  I just got back from driving the neighborhoods around the station.  I drove and walked around for about an hour.  I saw no trace of our hawk family.  I drove from 51st North to 21st streets and from Rockford West to the river (Riverside Drive).  Nothing was happening.  The only thing I saw was three men on the KJRH tower painting.  One was almost to the nest, painting the bowl just above the channel 2 lighted sign.  One was about half way up and the other was down low.  I tried to see something, no activity at all.  It is really hot!!!  Probably above 90, humidity is high.

    Re: Post-fledge observations

3:15pm  Wow Gunit, you were really close to my house.  I live on 50th St between Rockford & Troost only 2 block east of where you were.   About an hour & a half ago I was getting into the car to go to PetSmart & I heard hawk cries.  I looked up & saw 2 hawks circling at 50th & Troost.  I was wondering if it might have been Kay & Thunder.  Earlier this morning I could hear hawk cries in the distance also.  Last week I noticed 3 hawks flying overhead just gliding around.  Maybe mom & dad are out with Thunder helping pick out new territory for her relocation.  Guess I'll have to pay more attention to the skies around here.  I figured I was too far from the station for it to be our little family, but maybe not afterall.  Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Well the station is at 37th & Peoria so a little over a mile south & 2 or 3 blocks east.  Ya know where Burger Street is? That's 49th Pl. I am between Rockford & Troost on 50th St.  I guess you wouldn't know that, duh you aren't from the area Embarrassed
