Re: Photos/ screen captures
Beautiful Oklahoma sunset shot, Bville. Thanks! Makes me feel a little closer to my son, and "y'all", seeing what you folks see out there.

Re: Photos/ screen captures
I just had an opportunity to watch Salin' and Amazing Grace. Wow. I especially loved in Sailin' when the bird found the thermal/wind rise on the far edge of the building and played in it for a while, in and out and in and out. Thank you for posting those links!

Re: Photos/ screen captures
I'm just now getting around to practicing linking my screen captures to this thread. I haven't figured out yet how to get my link in here that you can just click on and it takes you automatically to where you want to go. So, for now, I've just created my little flickr account and put a couple of today's screen shots on (no hawks, unfortunately!)... And all I know how to do is copy/paste the URL to that page here. You'll, of course have to copy/paste it yourself from here to your browser,.... anyway I'm on a Mac, using Safari... Any hints anybody on what to do? So, unless you have a burning desire to look at my screen capture of the Arkansas River, and one of the Empty Nest with Greenery... Then you just skip this:

Re: Photos/ screen captures
Socal, here's a test from your flickr album: Here's how I did it. I went to your Flickr album page with the river photo and this photo on it. I then clicked on this photo. Then I clicked on the "all sizes" tab at the top left of the image. That brought up another page with this photo and a blue button above the photo that says "download original size." I right clicked the button and copied the link. Going back to the "reply" page on the forum, I clicked on the little "insert image" button on the toolbar above the text box. That opened a pop-up with a window that says "enter imaage URL." I nserted the link that I copied from the Flickr page and hit "Okay." Et voila! C' est fait!

Re: Photos/ screen captures
I'm soooo excited about getting all this instruction!!! .... From Bville (in an email to me at home), and now from you, bobdmac in your post!! While you guys were so kindly informing me of the procedure, I was busy "futzing" with my photos on my phone and on my computer, then posting a few more on that Flickr page. They are mostly of my dog, and some of some wild ducks that visit our neighborhood each year... So, I was just thinking that I'd separate somehow my pages of photos on Flickr, and then have different urls -- one for the "Pets" thread on the hawk forum, and one for this thread... Anyway... I'm not there yet. I'm going off to try to just "link" it up as is for now, to the "Pets" thread, following your instructions.

Re: Photos/ screen captures
bobdmac and Bville:
I'm ready to start a new thread called "TEARING MY HAIR OUT".
I followed your instructions very carefully, except you guys are seeing something that I'm not. When I get to the stage where I go back to our forum and hit the "reply" button, I then DO NOT SEE the little "insert image" button on a toolbar above the textbox. Bville, you described this as a little mountain with a sun...I'm not seeing this... Is this something that you see come up immediately above the blank message box? ... or is it something you are seeing come up above the text of the person's post that you are replying to?... I'm just not seeing this. Please help me to retain my sanity, and give me a little hint as to where to look... and at what point that appears, in the reply process. Sorry to be a nuisance about this! I do appreciate your help!
AWHILE LATER:
bobdmac and Bville:
I'm ecstatic! Success! I posted Honey's photo on the "Our Pets" thread. The problem was that I was using Safari, which was not showing ALL of the icons on that toolbar! So Safari is not completely compatible with the KJRH website... My husband suggested that I try Foxfire, and there it was!!! That icon you guys were referring to! Whew! I was so frustrated. Now I get to keep my hair. : ) Not that I ever know what to do with it, anyway... Anyway thanks again!

Re: Photos/ screen captures
Hey, Socal: Step outside your back door, point your ear toward the ESE, and that noise you hear is me yelling, "Woo-hoo!" Isn't that voila moment the greatest feeling! It's like when you were back in math class factoring quadratic equations and finally hit on the solution. Glad you stuck with it and found those little discrepancies. It is Firefox that I use, but I wasn't sure how your own setup would display certain things. I know that I tried Internet Explorer with this, and there were some little differences. Anyway, all sorts of things are possible now. Congratulations! Glad that hairdo is still intact.

Thanks Bville! I'm glad I stuck with it, too! And this is waaay more fun than math! (at least for me!) ... "see ya" tomorrow.

Re: Photos/ screen captures
Congratulations, Socal! I'm glad you asked your hubby. I didn't realize that the toolbar didn't show up on Safari. I'm also using a mac, but with Firefox. I like Safari, and I don't ordinarily have problems with the various sites, but I just tried Safari on the forum too, and I had the same result: no toolbar above the text box. Anyway, we'll be looking forward to your pics.

Re: Photos/ screen captures
Thanks bobdmac! Now I'm so anxious to get a screenshot of the hawk family... of any of them! ... I'd like to be able to contribute to our growing "album" on this forum. We'll see... Thunder's certainly not there for us to see as much any more. Yesterday (Thursday) was wonderful...But, her time there overall has dwindled greatly. And that is as it should be. Now, though, I really do look forward to Kay and Jay's next possible nesting adventure... and any new baby hawks we'll get to enjoy! - and be nervous for !!! : )
I said this earlier to Bville in an email... I'm exhaustepated! I was going to knock out then... and that was over a half hour ago!...Now I'm really out! Really!!!
g'night, bobdmac! "see" ya later.

Re: Photos/ screen captures
I have added a few more photos that I took today (as well as a few from Friday). There are several of one of the KJRH hawks in a tree (being harassed by their feathered friends, or is it fiends) - just wondering about identification - consensus please!!!! http://www.flickr.com/photos/cheryls_camera/2604766949/
I'm looking at getting a different camera - so I can get the zoom shots I want. This little canon slim digital with a 12x digital zoom just isn't cutting it for me!!!!

O.K. catgirl, my official vote here is that the hawk in that tree is Jay. White eyebrows, red tail. Can see them on double-clicking the various shots into the larger versions. Great pictures! My camera wouldn't do anywhere near as well! But then, it would be hard to zoom in from Vista, CA to Tulsa, OK anyway... Much appreciated!
