Neither Kay nor Jay have been back to the nest since

Catgirl saw Jay Sun before noon

Mon April 6 two people gave reports of seeing Kay and Jay in the area.

I guess if this is not appropiate or you like something better. Change it.

I would like to leave this for any sightings of Kay and Jay. Discussions of Kay and Jay during the nest building any theories or thoughts on their actions and where do they go from here?

Observer- Thanks for starting this new thread.  I, for one, will be driving by the station and surrounding areas and will report anytime I see our hawks.  As I sit here this morning and watch the sun come up on the nest tears are forming.  Somehow the nest looks colder than the 20+ degrees we have this morning.  There is so much we don't understand.  The learning process continues.........

Gunit, Catgirl, thank you! I hope you can get a "Tulsa hawk/nest watch" going...I want to hear what is going on at the other nests, too, and hope there is happy news from those. And Mama and Bob for bringing over those observations from the chat that Kay and Jay were sighted yesterday. Do we need a seperate thread for observations of Tulsa area nests, so we can still talk about various things in raptor rap and more easily see what's up with Tulsa nexts? Just a thought; I'm good either way.

I love the head shots, Observer. Can we add the comparison belly band shot, too, just so it will be here for ID reference down the road, especially if we have new watchers on the ground there?

I dont know where to put this but Kay showes up @ the nest @ 8:21.

8:22 a.m. Kay visits the nest. Checks her nest, moves a piece of bark and a stick near the eggs, then perches on the rail. A little hawk tai chi and a rouse of her feathers, then she settles to survey her realm, Queen of KJRH tower!  Cam was zoomed on her feet in the nest but someone was watching and pulled out so we could see all of her!  Yes! She looks fit and fine and is NOT calling!! Looks pretty contented, actually. 8:32 She rouses once more and flies off right. Gee it was good to see her in person!!

Hi all!  Just logged in to see Kay sitting on the bar in the nest...it IS great to see her.  I hope she and Jay will drop in often.  Thanks for the great pics Mazie and Sallyls!

I had caught the closeups, but for some reason my captures came out as a black screen. After fixing the problem--almost The Look.
