Remember Me resets some of opera’s most famous tunes into dynamic 21st century
arrangements that borrow from pop, rock, and even new age music. The story concerns
a guy whose girl prefers his brother, so he drags her into a cloister where she’s “kept in a
gilded cage.” With East Village Opera Company re-imaging popular pieces by Verdi,
Puccini, Mozart and Schubert, and Parson’s Dance creating works of extraordinary
contemporary artistry, Remember Me is sure to be uplifting and engaging from the
moment the curtain opens.
