WHAT:  Downy would like to invite consumers to get involved in the Downy Touch of Comfort day and deliver handmade quilts to children at The Children’s Hospital at Saint Francis on July 11th.  Consumers can go to Downy.com and click on “How to Help” on the Touch of Comfort Page to learn how to participate.  Space may be limited.

WHY:  More than six million children are hospitalized each year in the United States, forced to confront the challenges of overcoming illness while being away from home in an unfamiliar environment.  In order to bring a little comfort and security back to some of these children, Downy fabric softener, in partnership with Quilts for Kids, Inc., has launched the Downy Touch of Comfort program.  This program will deliver personalized, hand-made quilts to children staying in Children’s Miracle Network hospitals throughout the country, helping to give them a moment to smile during their tough times.

As a way for consumers to actively get involved in the program and help bring a touch of comfort to a child’s life, Downy invites consumers to take part in Tulsa’s first Downy Touch of Comfort Day.  This day will allow consumers to see firsthand how a small and simple thing like delivering a handmade quilt can help brighten up a child’s day, turning otherwise difficult moments into a bit of comfort when they need it most.
