See the site of the future Oklahoma Centennial Botanical Garden being developed just seven miles northwest of downtown Tulsa and panoramic views of Tulsa's skyline and the Osage Hills. Walk through the Cross Timbers forest and prairie and enjoy the peace and serenity of the beautiful area. Linnaeus Gardeners will present Great Plants for Tulsa Gardens.
The $40 million Garden will be developed on 60 acres of donated land. 100 acres of forest and prairie will be preserved for conservation and research.
The free open houses will be from 10 am - 1 p.m. every Saturday, except July 4, through October, with a different program about outdoors and gardening each day.
There will be signage in a few weeks. Here are directions to the site: Exit I-244 onto the Tisdale Parkway. Exit at Apache and turn left. Turn right on the first street -- North Osage Drive. The drive will lead directly to the Garden site (approximately 5 miles). You will go through two stop signs. The last mile is graveled and is the new Garden entrance.
