Lawyer in the Library is back again and will be held on Monday, April 28, 2008, from 9:00A.M. to 4:00P.M. in the Tulsa County Law Library, at the Tulsa County District Courthouse.

“Lawyer in the Library is a long-standing Law Week event, offering the community free advice sessions on a variety of topics.  Last year, 22 volunteer attorneys assisted 102 patrons with their legal questions.  Generally, patrons require only an explanation of procedure or the recommendation of a form to use.  If patrons require significant assistance, volunteer attorneys are asked to refer them to appropriate public agencies for further assistance.

Volunteer lawyers are asked to sign up for a one or two hour time slot. Consultations are fifteen minute sessions offered on a walk-in basis. All Library materials will be made available to the volunteer attorney, and copies requested by the volunteer attorney for the patron are made without charge.  Volunteer attorneys do not assume pro bono obligations or representations of the counseled patrons.
