“The course of true love never did run smooth” in Shakespeare’s classic comedy of misdirected love, faerie machinations and magical transformations. Hermia and Lysander escape into the forest so that they may be wed, but are followed by Demetrius (her father’s choice for her) and Helena (who loves Demetrius herself). Meanwhile, a motley group also enter the forest to organize a play for the Duke’s wedding.
