ORGANIZATION INFO:

Good Samaritan Health Services (GSHS) is more than just a free medical clinic. GSHS is a non-profit organization that uses the ministry of medicine and healthcare to open doors, change lives and build relationships!

GSHS recognizes the challenges that many families face in obtaining healthcare. The mission of this local outreach is to take compassionate healthcare to those in need.  With our two Mobile Medical Units we able to reach those who cannot afford medical attention or who experience difficulty accessing healthcare in the greater Tulsa area. It is our hope to relieve some of those challenges by taking healthcare directly into the neighborhoods of our community.

GSHS is made up of compassionate Christian medical professionals and caring volunteers who desire to see the people in our local communities healed in all areas of life – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.  Our continuing presence in these communities allows us to know our patients’ full histories while providing the education necessary to avoid preventable health problems.

Since 2000, GSHS has treated over 25,000 patients. To learn more about the ministry of GSHS, visit www.goodsamaritanhealth.org.

EVENT SPEAKERS:

Mr. Foster Friess

In 1974, Mr. Foster Friess founded a money management firm headquartered in Jackson, Wyoming that bears his name, Friess Associates.   The three Brandywine Funds, Fortune 500-company pension funds, endowments, and institutional portfolios comprise its $16 billion of assets.   Business Week magazine hailed Mr. Friess as, “the longest surviving successful growth stock picker.”  Ron Insana of CNBC  dubbed him “one of the last century’s greatest investors.”

Mr. Friess and his wife of 45 years, Lynn, established the Lynn and Foster Friess Family Foundation and two smaller foundations with $140 million from their firm's profits. These foundations make grants for small, entrepreneurial, faith-based urban charities.  Mr. Friess’ foundations gifted GSHS their first Mobile Medical Unit and provided them with a matching grant for half the cost of their second Mobile Medical Unit.

Dr. John Crouch, Jr.

After graduating from Southern Illinois University and the University of Illinois, Urbana, in 1963, Dr. Crouch continued his education in medical school at Washington University School of Medicine and completed an internship and family practice residency at San Bernardino County Medical Center.  Dr. Crouch has had a variety of experiences in his medical career, from holding positions in the ORU School of Medicine to a tour as a Medical Officer and a Battalion Flight Surgeon for the U.S. Army in Viet Nam.
