The Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition today announced 17 Tulsa artists in 10 studios will open their doors for the sixth Tulsa Art Studio Tour. Visitors can get a glimpse into the creative process and see art in action April 12th – 13th from noon until 5 p.m each day.
The artists range from photographers to painters to beadmakers, representing a variety of stages in their art careers. Tour artists include W. Maurice Clyma, woodturning; Mikey Coy, ceramics; Elizabeth Downing, photography; Janet Duvall, pastels; Annette Ellis, oil painting; James and Yiren Gallagher, painting and printmaking; Shan Goshorn, photography and painting; Lou Hodgson, oil painting; Mark Lackey, oil and watercolor; Sharyl Landis, mixed media and beadwork; Darshan Phillips and Aaron Whisner, painting and graphic design; Renee and Robert Reed, painting; Tom Richardson, oil painting; and John Walton, painting.
A kick-off celebration and exhibit will be held at the Circle Cinema, 10 S. Lewis, on Thursday, April 3rd from 5-8 pm. This event is free and open to the public, and guests will have a chance to see examples of artwork from artists on the tour, meet the artists, purchase tour tickets and bid on celebrity collaborative artwork. This exhibit runs from April 3rd – May 27th.
