How about that. Finally, college football players making a decision to stay in school, at least for another year. With Sam Bradford, Jermaine Gresham, Trent Williams and Gerald McCoy deciding to stay in school, maybe its the beginning of a trend. That is not all green pasture on the other side.
There will be those who will call the decisions foolish, because the money is there now, and the risk of injury next year could ruin the future of these players. I look at it this way. All 4 players can get insurance agaianst injury, based on the potential earning power. All 4 have been projected to be at least a 2nd round pick, so that insurance payout would be substantial.
Secondly, all the NFL folks I have talked with insist all but Gresham could use another year of maturity in the physical department, and as for Grehsam he could use a little work in the blocking world. Thats a must in the NFL.
If you saw the press conferences Wednesday, you could tell Bob Stoops was extremely happy about the latest news, and it certainly takes some of the sting away from the BCS Championship disaster.
Thre is something about enjoying a college experience. It worked out just fine for Peyton Manning, and he stayed at Tennessee all 4 years. Didn't hurt his draft status.
